She fell asleep.
I saw her.
She lacked life today.
I couldn't tell if she was crying
silently sobbing or
secretly sleeping
the pain away.

She fell in love -
I saw her.
Her face said it all.
I couldn't tell if she was happy
quietly dreaming or
softly dispelling
the hours away.

She fell victim
to the rest of world.
I saw her fall.
I couldn't tell if she was dying
an empty shell without a soul
or if it was temporary -
gently wasting
delicately withering
her life away.

She fell asleep.
I did not see her wake.
